Buying a house is somewhat of a once or twice in a lifetime kind of a thing for most people. So when we bought this house, we wanted it to be everything but most of all we wanted it be airy, decluttered and full of natural light.

That’s when we decided to bring in a designer who could not only understand the vision we had but could also bring it to life and give it some heart.

Design Doodle came in as a reference from one of our common friends and all it took was a couple of conversations and a bunch of photos to know that we had to bring them onboard.

We had such an amazing experience working with them on designing our home. From day one, they totally got our vision and worked tirelessly to make it a reality. Every little detail was thought through, and it was clear they really cared about creating a space that felt like us. The fact that we decided to go through with the first design they sent over (because we loved it so much!) still seems a bit unbelievable to us given how the design always is the biggest challenge.

What really impressed us was how they managed to bring fresh, creative ideas to the table while keeping everything aligned with what we wanted. To make things even better, they listened to every idea we had and weaved it into their original design. We hit a few small bumps along the way, which we knew were bound to happen if you took on an endeavour this big but those disagreements and arguments never turned into ego battles and a lot of credit for that goes to Vijay and Maha as well.

We have seen Vijay climb onto rickety ladders to make sure a cutout for a light was perfectly round and we have also seen Maha stand with a blowdryer for a ridiculously long period of time to create beautiful moments for the final photoshoot of our house. That’s what they bring to the table - unadulterated passion to do the best they can. So its only fair that over the last couple of years, they have received so much appreciation and accolades for their work across multiple projects.

And that’s why somewhere down the line, we did become friends. They were always so easy to talk to and genuinely cared about making sure we were happy with everything. Now, we have a home that’s everything what we had envisioned when we started out. Over two years later, we can still pick up the phone and call them if we run into a snag and we know they will pick up!

If you’re looking for a designer who’s not only super talented but also a blast to work with, we can’t recommend Design Doodle enough. They made the whole process fun and stress-free, and we’re so thankful for their hard work. We may have bought a house but Maha, Vijay and everyone at Design Doodle helped us make it into a home.
